Propeller Networking: Meet the Entrepreneurs

Where: Media Factory – Creative Innovation Zone
When: Tuesday 13th November – 4pm

Booking necessary, get your ticket HERE

Becoming an entrepreneur and setting up your own business can be a wild ride. The experience is different for everybody, but we can always learn from others who have already started their journeys. Come along and meet three local entrepreneurs, who will walk us through how their companies came to be – from the initial idea to the present day – as well as the challenges they have faced. After the speakers’ presentations, there will be a panel-style discussion where you can ask your own questions, followed by a networking buffet.

Propeller is a complete enterprise support programme providing skills, training, mentoring, workspace and networking to the students, graduates and staff of UCLan (University of Central Lancashire). Our networking events are open to the public, bringing together businesses from the local community, academics from related fields and our own students and graduates.

About the Speakers

Salma Chaudhry
Director of The Halal Cosmetics Company Ltd.

The Halal Cosmetics Company is a premium award-winning skincare brand that researches and develops halal paraben and SLS-free cosmetics. With high-quality ingredients and a strong ethical standing – as well as being halal, the range is free from animal cruelty –  The Halal Cosmetics Company has gained success in both domestic and global markets. As the only brand of halal cosmetics available in a mainstream UK retailer, you may have seen their Eid Gift Collection in ASDA.

Salma’s journey began with an unexpected life-changing event, which prompted her to look in depth at the products she was using in everyday life. She found that many of the products she used actually contained ‘haram’ ingredients and were not allowed in accordance with my religious beliefs. Her discovery led her down a challenging but exciting path as she became determined to launch a range of essential skincare which would be halal and of premium quality.
