WHEN DOES THE GREAT NORTHERN CREATIVE EXPO TAKE PLACE?
The Great Northern Creative Expo will take place November 18th-23rd, 2019. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to an international audience of filmmakers, industry delegates and film fans.
HOW CAN I SUBMIT MY WORK?
The Great Northern Creative Expo only accepts submissions through our official FilmFreeway platform.
CAN I REQUEST A FEE WAIVER?
The entry fee for your submission to The Great Northern Creative Expo is extremely competitive and only covers the administration and programming costs. Unfortunately, we cannot grant any fee waivers.
CAN I SEND MY WORK IN A HIGHER QUALITY FORMAT?
Your initial submission to The Great Northern Creative Expo is solely for judging purposes and we only require access to a viewable version of your work. However, if your work is selected for inclusion in the Expo then you will be asked to supply a higher quality version for screening.
WHAT ARE THE AGE RESTRICTIONS ON SUBMITTING TO TGNCE19?
There are no age restrictions on submitting to the Expo so everyone is welcome to enter. Work can be submitted on behalf of someone under 18 using the FilmFreeway platform.
DOES MY FILM HAVE TO HAVE BEEN MADE IN 2019?
We accept submission of works completed after January 1st 2016.
DO YOU ACCEPT WORK-IN-PROGRESS?
The Great Northern Creative Expo only accepts completed works as we are only able to evaluate one version of each submission.
DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL ENTRANTS?
Yes, The Great Northern Creative Expo Visual Media Competition is open to international submissions.
MY WORK IS NOT IN ENGLISH, DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE SUBTITLES?
All dialogue in submitted works are required to be either dubbed into English, or provided with English subtitles. The only exception is song lyrics, which do not have to be translated.
CAN I SUBMIT WORK THAT HAS BEEN SCREENED ELSEWHERE?
The Great Northern Creative Expo accepts entries which have been previously screened elsewhere. Please include information on previous screenings with your submission.
CAN I RECEIVE FEEDBACK AFTER THE JUDGING PROCESS?
Due to the high number of entires we receive, we cannot offer any feedback on an individual basis.
CAN I CHANGE DETAILS ON MY ENTRY AFTER SUBMISSION?
Yes, changes are permitted up until the deadline on Friday 23rd August 2019. After the submission deadline, we will neither allow or consider any further changes to submissions.
DO I KEEP THE COPYRIGHT FOR MY WORK?
Yes, you retain all copyright for your submission. However, by submitting the works to the competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to The Great Northern Creative Expo and it’s partners to feature any or all of the submitted materials in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.
DO I NEED MUSIC RIGHTS FOR MY WORK’S SUBMISSION?
You are fully responsible for the clearance of all music and sound contained in your entry. You may be required to prove clearance by The Great Northern Creative Expo before inclusion.
DO I NEED CLEARANCE, EVEN FOR NON-COMMERCIAL USE?
You are still responsible for the clearance of all external materials, music, sound, film clips, stills, photographs from other sources. You may be required to prove clearance by The Great Northern Creative Expo before inclusion.
MY SUBMISSION DEALS WITH ADULT TOPICS, CAN I STILL SUBMIT?
All submissions are welcome to TGNCE19, however all works included in TGNCE19 Official Selection will be shown in public screenings. The organisers of The Great Northern Creative Expo have the right to deny screenings of material they deem unsuitable for their viewers.
MY WORK RUNS LONGER THAN 30 MINUTES, CAN I STILL SUBMIT IT?
The maximum running time for submission to The Great Northern Creative Expo Visual Media Competition is 30 minutes inclusive of any titles and credits. No works greater than this length shall be deemed eligible for submission.
CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE ENTRY?
You may enter as many works as you like. You must complete a separate entry for each work and you will be charged for each submission.
