Song Writing Competition

The Great Northern Song Competition will be celebrating the musical talents of the UK at the Great Northern Creative Festival this year, held November 13th-18th 2017!
The competition is open to all Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students from June 1st 2017. The deadline for submissions is at midnight on September 30th 2017.

Send us some of your music, and the chosen 10 finalists will have the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Venue 53, situated on the UCLan campus in Preston, in front of a live audience and a professional Music Industry Panel!
All styles and genres are welcome to apply. Be as creative as you like!

Each member of the winning group / band / will receive:

• 3 Days Studio Time in a professional recording studio owned by the University of Central Lancashire, staffed by one of their professional producers who will guide you through the entire process, engineering your session from start to finish.

• A chance for your recordings to be released through the UCLan Record Label.
• Award from the festival’s principal sponsor, Arriva Rail North.

• £1,000 discount on the winning students’ tuition fees, if they apply to and enrol to UCLan in
2018 and 2019.

Entries must be original work composed by yourself, and if the song was written as a group, then you must have the other parties’ permission to enter so please make sure you ask everyone involved!

Finalists will receive free tickets for family and friends for the live event in Venue 53.
